The Revised HHSRS: Weakening Protection against Housing Hazards

The Housing, Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS) is 17 years old, and the supporting evidence at least 25 years old. A review and updating is long overdue. The DLUHC commissioned a Review, but in this paper we summarise how the proposed revised version undermines the System and weakens its aim and underlying principle, to protect the health and safety of occupiers.
