Our Manifesto to Government to make existing homes and communities the priority is available here and a Summary is available here.
Established in 2015, and initially known as the Academic-Practitioner Partnership for Healthier Housing (APPHH), the Healthier Housing Partnership (HHP) is an independent partnership of academics, housing, environmental health and regeneration practitioners and housing and health researchers.
Our aims are to promote healthier housing and raise the standard of existing and new housing which we believe will achieve wider social and economic benefits.
We promote a holistic concept of healthier housing and living conditions, recognising the importance and interrelationship of the dwelling, its users and the wider determinants of health.
Building on a legacy of over 50 years’ experience, our members have worked in advocacy, research and/or on the front-line:
-
dealing with the unhealthy state of individual dwellings;
-
working on positive actions to improve the condition of types or areas of housing;
-
undertaking research into the consequences of people experiencing unhealthy, insecure and/or unsafe housing and living conditions; and
-
developing, implementing and promoting innovative actions and policies that have been used to tackle these problems.
We operate as an evidence-led partnership providing leadership, advocacy and capacity building, and co-operating with a wide range of stakeholders across relevant sectors.
We regularly issue news items, research digests and advice notes on our 'News' page. To subscribe, please leave your details on the 'Contact' page.
